24 Jul – 26 July 2024
NETS2024 will be held from 24 -26 July 2024 at Ascot Park Hotel, Invercargill. Mark that in your diary and start making plans!
Further details, conference abstract submissions and registrations (when open) - visit the NETS2024 website.
The theme for NETS2024 is Maintaining the Gains – Puritia te Aronga.
Puritia te aronga means to retain or hold actively onto the focus or direction, and that’s what we need to do with any long term biosecurity goal.
This theme is inspired by the hura te ao gecko (Mokopirirakau galaxias), a new species first discovered in 2018 in North Otago.
While we often can clearly identify native flora and fauna that benefit from long term biosecurity projects, hura te ao geckos are a reminder that the work we are doing and the focus and direction we need to maintain, may well be protecting more treasures that we have not yet discovered.
Do you have a story to share as a 20 minute presentation, or an update as a 3-minute GEM? In keeping with the NETS2024 theme, we invite submissions for presentations on how you are ‘maintaining the gains’, and future-proofing your biosecurity projects.
Abstract submissions will open January 2024 and will close 12 March 2024.
