Who we are
The New Zealand Biosecurity Institute (NZBI) is a national network of people working in or involved in biosecurity and environmental management across Aotearoa. We bring together practitioners, researchers, students, and agencies who share a common goal - protecting Aotearoa New Zealand’s unique environment, economy, and way of life.
As a member-based incorporated society, NZBI provides opportunities to connect, learn, and grow within the biosecurity sector. Members can stay up to date on industry news and career opportunities, access mentoring, and take part in local and national events.
We host the annual NETS conference, publish our quarterly magazine, Protect, and support regional branches in running events, field trips, and activities throughout the year.
By joining NZBI, you become part of a community with a wide range of experience, knowledge, and a shared commitment to strengthening biosecurity in Aotearoa.
